Introducing Custom Lists: Simplify Your Conversations with WhatsApp
WhatsApp has just unleashed a new feature that’s set to revolutionize the way you manage your conversations: Custom Lists. Gone are the days of limited chat filtering options, as Custom Lists allows users to categorize and filter conversations with greater flexibility.
The new feature enables you to create personalized categories, such as “Work” or “Friends,” making it easy to quickly locate and sort conversations. For businesses, this means creating dedicated lists for “Enquiries,” “Suppliers,” or “Refunds,” streamlining the way you organize communications.
To access Custom Lists, simply navigate to the filter bar (located below the search box) and tap the “+” icon. From there, you can create a new list, customize its title, and synchronize it across your devices.
Custom lists can be renamed or deleted by long-pressing the list name and selecting either “List name” or “Delete list.” You can also manage your custom lists in the WhatsApp Settings menu under “Lists.”
For the sake of user experience, WhatsApp has capped the number of custom lists at 20 per user/account. This ensures the app’s interface remains uncluttered and easy to navigate.
One of the best aspects of Custom Lists is its default setting: each list is private, meaning only you can view and manage your custom lists. This feature is part of a series of new additions to the WhatsApp platform, including Story Mentions and Cloud-Based Contacts.
