Former Dapper Music Artist, Shallipopi, Moves On

Shallipopi Parts Ways With Dapper Music

Nigerian Music Star, Shallipopi, Leaves Dapper Music Entrepreneurship to Strike Out on His Own

Nigerian artist Shallipopi, known by his stage name, has announced his departure from Dapper Music, the label that launched his career in 2023. Clues about his exit were previously circulating, and the telltale signs have now become clear.

A thorough examination of Shallipopi’s social media profiles reveals that he has untagged Dapper Music and stopped following the label’s head. This development solidifies the notion of his departure.

Notably, this decision comes shortly after Shallipopi launched his own record label, Plutomania Records, showcasing Zerry DL and Tega Boi as its flagship artists. The split from Dapper Music follows swiftly on the heels of fellow artist Seyi Vibez’s own departure from the label, which occurred just a few months prior.

Meanwhile, Afrobeats sensation, Ruger, has lamented the state of the Nigerian music industry. In a recent social media post, he expressed his frustration with the prevalence of untalented artists achieving success due to extensive promotion. He believes that the industry’s emphasis on monetizing fame over artistic merit can be hurtful.

Ruger also criticized the widespread use of autotune during live performances, stating that some artists overrely on electronic enhancements to create a false sense of talent. He concluded by assuring fans that he, personally, does not need such crutches to showcase his skill.
