The Tornadoes have demonstrated resilience, registering an unbeaten streak of two games, and are currently sitting in seventh place in the NPFL table with 14 points.

Abia Warriors Dispel Transfer Allegations

Abia Warriors have refuted claims that they have violated player transfer rules, as reported by recent media outlets. It was alleged that the Umuahia-based club had not complied with NPFL directives regarding outstanding debts owed to former players.

In an interview with Completesports, John Obuh, the club’s chairman, categorically denied these claims, stating, “Abia Warriors is not in breach of any player transfer rule.” He explained that the club had responded to the allegations, requesting that the responsible authorities – the NPFL or NFF – be contacted regarding the matter.

Obuh highlighted the context of the issue, noting that the alleged outstanding debts date back over a decade and that additional time is needed to verify the claims and find a resolution with the affected players. He lamented the lack of a proper platform to present their case, citing a prior meeting with the Player Status and Arbitration Committee that was interrupted due to a scheduled President’s Cup match in Lafia, Nasarawa State.

Nasarawa United Celebrates Victor Collins’ Super Eagles Call-Up

Nasarawa United recently expressed their joy on social media following the announcement of defender Victor Collins’ inclusion in the Super Eagles squad for the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Benin Republic and Rwanda. He is the only home-based player selected for the team.

This is not Collins’ first taste of international football; he previously represented the Super Eagles Team B in a qualifying match against Ghana’s Black Stars. The club released a statement praising his achievement, saying, “We are thrilled to see his hard work, dedication, and passion for the game paying off. We have no doubt that he will join our other ambassadors in making valuable contributions to the National Team.”
