In an appearance on The Obi One Podcast, Mikel highlighted the qualities that make Gyökeres an attractive prospect for the Premier League. He believes the Hungarian international’s physical attributes, including his size and strength, are essential for success in England’s top tier.
According to Mikel, Gyökeres is one of the top strikers in Europe at present, and he’s confident that the player would thrive in Chelsea’s system. “He has every attribute to be a Premier League player,” Mikel emphasized. “He’s strong, big, quick, and, most importantly, a proven goalscorer.”
The January transfer window is fast approaching, and reports have hinted that Gyökeres could be on the move. In his assessment of the player’s adaptability to Chelsea’s style of play, Mikel was resolute: “Definitely. He’s a Premier League player, and he suits the Premier League perfectly.”
Mikel also touched on Gyökeres’s impressive goal-scoring record, pointing out that the forward’s statistics are among the best in Europe. “When you look at it, his goalscoring ratio is better than any striker right now in Europe,” Mikel noted, underscoring the numbers. “The stats are there to back it up.”
