Ibadan Lawmaker Seeks God’s Guidance for Senate Bid
Ayodeji Adebiyi, a member of the Oyo State House of Assembly, representing Ibadan South West Constituency II, recently revealed his desire to run for the Senate, citing a divine call.
during a church service, Adebayo shared his story, stating that his decision to pursue a Senate seat is rooted in God’s direct instructions.
He expressed his eagerness to expand his political horizons and serve the people of Oyo State in the Senate, emphasizing the importance of seeking divine guidance.
“When I finished my second term, I told my constituents I wouldn’t be running for another term. But I’ve been waiting for God’s guidance, and now, God is telling me to prepare for the Senate,” he said.
Adebayo acknowledged that his desire to run for the Senate initially felt heavy and overwhelming, but he believed that with God’s intervention, anything was possible.
As a token of his gratitude, he publicly shared his plan to set aside 10% of his income, equivalent to N300,000, for God’s work. He emphasized that he recognized his own limitations but trusted that God could make the impossible possible.
“Today, I want to acknowledge God’s guidance. I have started sowing seeds for this Senate position, acknowledging that I am not capable of achieving it on my own. It is only God who can make it happen,” he said.
