e-Hailing Driver Tendered Unconditional Apology to Rep. Alex Ikwechegh Amid Drama over Altercation

An e-hailing driver named Stephen Abuwatseya recently caused a stir on social media after publicly apologizing to Hon. Alex Ikwechegh, a Nigerian lawmaker, in response to an altercation between them during a package delivery.

Abuwatseya shared a video statement apologizing for his actions that provoked Ikwechegh, stating that it’s high time for the nation’s citizens to set aside their differences and focus on moving the country forward.

“Nigerians, we shouldn’t let our identities get the better of us,” he said. “Let’s come together as one, and work towards unity and progress. No matter our religious or cultural affiliations, we have one thing in common: the love for our country. It’s time we channel this love into healing our divides and building a better tomorrow.”

In his statement, Abuwatseya emphasized the importance of forgiveness and forgetting, drawing inspiration from the Bible’s teachings.

“The Bible tells us to love our neighbors as ourselves. So, I implore my fellow Nigerians, let us forgive and move on,” he said, concluding with a message of gratitude for his family’s unwavering support during the ordeal.

Naijawebinfo recollects the viral footage that captured Ikwechegh allegedly slapping and insulting the Bolt driver at his Maitama, Abuja residence over a package delivery mishap.

Ikwechegh later issued a public apology, acknowledging his regret for his actions and apologizing for his unbecoming behavior during the altercation.
