Yul Edochie’s Latest Outburst at Brother Linc and Host Kanayo O. Kanayo Causes Online Uproar
Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has sparked a heated controversy online, with fans of the movie industry and Nigerians in general reacting harshly to his recent public outburst at his elder brother, Linc Edochie, and celebrity host, Kanayo O. Kanayo.
Linc recently appeared on a live interview on KOK Live, hosted by Kanayo O. Kanayo, during which he offered his views on Yul’s highly publicized marriage to Judy Austin. Specifically, he advised Yul to refrain from sharing sensitive family matters on social media.
However, Yul took strong exception to these comments and lashed out at Linc, not only in his words, but also in a slew of choice insults hurled at him on Instagram.
In a post that rapidly went viral, Yul accused his brother of airing family business in public and warned against “casting your family in public.” He also referred to Kanayo as “foolish” for allowing Linc to vent his grievances publicly.
Worse still, Yul invoked the image of celebrated musician Davido and his uncle, Ademola Adeleke, who serves as Osun State Governor, touting them as an embodiment of unity and respect, even in the face of public scrutiny.
His social media outburst was greeted with a mixture of amazement and criticism from fans and supporters of both parties involved, with many condemning Yul’s perceived overreaction as unbecoming and disproportionate.
Several commenters lambasted Yul for dragging his family’s name and reputation into the mud in a manner they deemed regrettable. Others felt Linc and Kanayo did nothing more than exercise their right to free speech in a conversation that should, in principle, have taken place privately.
Yul’s remarks also sparked further debate around the delicate matters of family relationships, family secrets, and the right to discuss one’s family life publicly.
