A New Chairman for Abia PDP: Abraham Amah Takes the Helm
The Abia State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has made a crucial decision, elevating Abraham Amah as its new chairman. Before taking up the position, Amah served as Vice Chairman for Abia State and acting Publicity Secretary for Abia North, earning a reputation as a vocal critic of the Labour Party-led administration in the state.
A product of Ihechiowa in Arochukwu local government area, Abia State, Amah secured an impressive 1,264 votes, outshining his closest competitor, Olugu Kalu, who garnered 395 votes during the election. Amah’s rise to power was a significant moment in Abia State politics, underscoring his dedication to the PDP and unwavering commitment to stay with the party.
The newly-elected zonal leaders of PDP include Onwuka Kalu as Chairman for Abia Central, Enyinnaya Appolos for Abia South, and Abia Elendu Kalu Elendu for Abia North.
Unity and Unity: Lagos PDP Stakes Claim for the 2027 Elections
Within the same political landscape, top officials of the PDP in Lagos State organized a crucial stakeholders’ meeting, where they emphasized the importance of unity among members. Held in Ifako-Ijaiye local government area, the Diadem group, a conglomerate of technocrats, aimed to galvanize 100,000 “organic members” for the party, marking a historic milestone.
The gathering, themed “Ideological Democracy as Against Palliative & Deceptive Politics,” celebrated Nigeria’s 64th Independence Day and brought together prominent speakers to underscore the significance of unity for the party’s strength. Dayo Kayode, the event organizer and aviation expert, declared, “We must come together, set aside our personal interests, and stand united to strengthen the PDP in Lagos.”
The Diadem group seeks to build trust among Lagosians, identifying corruption, weak leadership, and electoral fraud as pivotal issues holding Nigeria back, as revealed by keynote speaker Bolaji Akinyemi.
