Adamawa: Police Arrest Man For Killing Newborn

Adamawa State Police Command Arrests 19-Year-Old for Allegedly Murdering Newborn in Mubi North

In a shocking development, the Adamawa State Police Command has apprehended a 19-year-old suspect for allegedly killing a three-day-old baby in Mubi North Local Government Area of the state.

The development was announced by the Public Relations Officer of the Command, SP Suleiman Nguroje, in a statement issued on Saturday in Yola.

According to Nguroje, the suspect was arrested on Friday, November 8, in connection with the murder of the baby boy.

The alleged murder took place after the baby’s mother, who is also the suspect’s girlfriend, reported the incident to the police.

Nguroje revealed that the mother had accused the suspect of murdering the baby after she gave birth to it, claiming that the suspect visited her at her home in the dead of night and took the baby after asking her to step out of the room.

The police spokesman disclosed that preliminary investigations showed that the suspect had impregnated the complainant, and after the birth, he was asked to visit the mother to collect the baby.

The suspect allegedly killed the baby and buried the corpse in the Girpata area of Mubi.

The Commissioner of Police, Morris Dankombo, has ordered the case to be transferred to the Criminal Investigation Department (CUD) for further discreet investigation.
