Nigerian Activist Blasts Presidential Candidates, Declares Support for Peter Obi
Deji Adeyanju, a renowned Nigerian activist and lawyer, has taken a strong stance on the 2023 general elections, categorizing presidential candidates President Bola Tinubu, Atiku Abubakar, and Peter Obi together.
Adeyanju recently made some startling remarks in an interview, stating that he would vote for Peter Obi ahead of the other two candidates if given the option. However, he made it clear that his preference for Obi only comes after ruling out other options, including Omoyele Sowore.
In the interview, Adeyanju expressed his discontent with all three candidates, pointing out that they all campaigned on the platform of capitalism, advocating for the removal of fuel subsidies. He wondered why they couldn’t redirect those resources towards the impoverished masses instead.
Adeyanju further criticized the trio for their lavish spending habits, citing examples such as President Tinubu’s new jet and the First Lady’s exchange of naira for dollars. He also called out the National Assembly members for their extravagant lifestyles.
The activist believes that these politicians have been promoting capitalism and caving in to international monetary organizations like the IMF, and that it’s crucial for Nigeria to adopt a new breed of leaders.
Adeyanju’s views sparked a heated debate, with some questioning his criticism of Peter Obi, a former Governor of Anambra State. However, Adeyanju maintained that he doesn’t hate any of the politicians, only criticizing their actions and policies.
In conclusion, Adeyanju emphasized that Nigeria needs a fresh start, and that the current crop of politicians are all too similar. He hopes that Nigerians will come to realize that criticizing leaders doesn’t amount to hatred, but rather a call to accountability and change.
