Deadly Confrontation: Bandits Kill Two Security Personnel in Katsina State
In a brazen attack, bandits struck Jibia Local Government Area in Katsina State, leaving two security personnel dead and five residents wounded. The coordinated assault on three quarters in Jibia Township began at 9:15 pm on Thursday, November 7.
The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment, with authorities confirming the incident. A joint security team, led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Jibia, quickly responded to the attack and engaged the bandits in an intense gunfight.
Thanks to their superior firepower and tactical advantage, the security team managed to repel the attackers, forcing them to retreat with unknown casualties. The operation also led to the rescue of 16 individuals who had been held captive by the bandits.
According to the State Police Command, further updates on the incident will be shared in due course. In the meantime, the police are working closely with other security agencies to apprehend the perpetrators of the attacks.
Katsina State Commissioner of Police, Aliyu Musa, reassured the public of the Command’s commitment to protecting lives and property.
