Edo State: lawyers prepared to reclaim stolen political mandate.

Edo: Our Lawyers Are Ready To Reclaim Our Stolen Mandate – Ighodalo

PDP’s Edo Governorship Candidate Calls for Unity and Resilience in Bid to Reclaim Stolen Mandate

Dr. Asue Ighodalo, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) governorship candidate in Edo State’s September 21 election, has rallied party members to stand strong and united in their quest to reclaim what he termed their “stolen mandate.” Speaking at the inauguration of the party’s caretaker committee in Benin, the state capital, Ighodalo emphasized the importance of staying focused and determined.

Ighodalo praised outgoing Governor Godwin Obaseki for his dedication and leadership, stating that his focus and determination have been exemplary. He urged party faithful to remain steadfast in their pursuit of reclaiming their mandate, citing Obaseki’s example.

The inauguration marked the formal appointment of the caretaker committee, which will oversee party affairs until new executives are elected. The committee is chaired by Dr. Tony Aziegbemi, with Hon. Henry Duke Tenebe serving as Secretary. Other members include Harrison Omagbon, Fidel Igenegbale, Chris Nehikhare, Tony Anenih Jnr, Archbishop Anthony Okosun, Segun Saiki, Adezat Ibrahim, and Augustine Edosomwan.

Ighodalo’s call to party members comes as the PDP prepares for a legal and political battle to overturn the September election results. He revealed that the party expects a response to its petition next week and will have five days to respond to the opposing party’s petition. This will likely take the dispute to late November, after which the pre-hearing and major hearing will commence.

Ighodalo assured party members that their lawyers are working tirelessly to prepare a strong response to the opposing party’s petition. He urged members to remain resilient and steadfast in the face of challenges, stating that “times are hard, but we must stand firm and be strong as we navigate the journey to reclaim our stolen mandate.”
