Breaking News: NNPP’s Board of Trustees to Meet on November 8 to Address Court Ruling
Dr. Boniface Aniebonam, the founder and life member of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), has announced that the party’s BoT will convene on November 8, 2024, to discuss a recent court ruling that has significant implications for the party’s leadership.
The court ruling, handed down by an Abia High Court, has directed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to transfer the management and administration of the NNPP to Aniebonam’s BoT. This development marks a major shift in the party’s leadership structure, placing Aniebonam and his team in charge of making key decisions.
Speaking at a media briefing in Lagos, Aniebonam emphasized the importance of the upcoming meeting, stating that the board is committed to upholding the “compelling order” of the court. He highlighted the need for the meeting to shape the party’s future direction and ensure compliance with the court’s ruling.
The November 8 meeting is expected to bring together key stakeholders within the NNPP to discuss the implications of the court’s judgment and chart a new course under Aniebonam’s leadership. The meeting will also set out the strategic steps for the party’s future, ensuring a smooth transition and compliance with the court’s ruling.
Aniebonam reiterated that the party’s presidential candidate, Rabiu Kwankwaso, remains suspended from the party, pending the outcome of the meeting and the implementation of the court’s ruling.
