Nollywood Actor Yul Edochie Slams Individuals Using His Name for Gain
A recent Instagram post by Yul Edochie, a prominent Nollywood actor, has sent a strong message to those misusing his name for personal gain.
According to reports by Naijawebinfo, Yul expressed his outrage at the lies people spread about him, claiming they would stop at nothing to gain sympathy and promote their businesses.
The actor specifically mentioned false rumors that he is only able to perform for 40 seconds, emphasizing the absurdity of such lies.
He wrote, “No lie has been told that I haven’t heard about people using to gain pity and sell their products. They’ll soon claim I’m a 40 seconds man.” His post is a stern warning to those who seek to exploit his name for their own gain.
Meanwhile, Yul Edochie has also taken a stand against the unacceptable practice of punishing children for speaking their native language.
He believes that it’s wrong to discipline children for speaking their mother tongue, instead advocating for the importance of teaching English for effective communication.
Yul emphasized that while English is essential, children should not be physically punished for speaking their native language.
He attributed this mindset to the lingering effects of colonialism, urging Africans to reclaim their cultural heritage.
He questioned whether other cultures, such as the Chinese, would ever discourage their native language, highlighting the apparent double standard.
Yul implored people to never make their fellow Africans feel inferior for being African, and to promote a sense of pride and unity.
