Mr. P Reacts to Brotherly Spat Over Song Rights
Following allegations of song theft by his twin brother Rudeboy, musician Peter Okoye (aka Mr. P) has taken to social media to address the claims, highlighting the collaborative effort that went into creating the accused song.
The drama began when Rudeboy accused Mr. P and their former producer, Vampire, of appropriating his song, “Winning,” which Rudeboy claimed was still set to be released alongside his upcoming album.
In a now-viral Instagram post, Mr. P dismissed his brother’s accusations, clarifying that the song is indeed a collaborative effort he shared with Calypso60.
The singer expressed frustration that Rudeboy was consistently dragging him down with negativities, imploring him to allow him the creative freedom to focus on making music.
Mr. P shared, “No one can steal what belongs to them! It’s for the best. I extend my gratitude to Vampire and all the other talented professionals who contributed to ‘Winning’ for their time and expertise.”
He then underscored the song’s collective effort, stating, “‘Winning’ was written and composed by Calypso60 music and myself. Produced by Vampire and co-produced by Goldswarm. And rightfully so, all who lent their skills deserve public acknowledgement and appreciation. ‘”
Celebrating his “new single out” (including “Winning,” Mr. P encouraged his fans to focus on their work and not let brotherly squabbles steal the spotlight, reiterating his desire to put his music first.
