New Era for Manchester United: Ruben Amorim Takes the Helm
The wait is finally over as Ruben Amorim officially became the new head coach of Manchester United, marking a fresh chapter in the club’s history.
A warm welcome awaited Amorim upon his arrival at the club’s training ground, with a hug from chief executive Omar Berrada and greetings from sporting director Dan Ashworth, technical director Jason Wilcox, and other team officials. The moment was captured in a series of photographs shared on the club’s official website.
The club took to social media to welcome Amorim, saying, “It’s not just Carrington. It’s home. A warm welcome for Ruben Amorim at our training ground.”
According to reports, Amorim will spend the next 13 days meeting with key staff members before taking charge of the team for the first time. His debut match as Manchester United head coach is scheduled for November 24 against Ipswich Town.
The appointment comes after Erik Ten Hag’s departure, with Amorim, a 39-year-old Portuguese coach, signing a deal until 2027 and officially joining the Premier League club on November 11.
In related news, Manchester United confirmed the departure of four first-team coaches, including Ruud van Nistelrooy, who led the team to a 3-0 win over Leicester in his final match in charge.
The club thanked the departing coaches for their commitment and wished them well for the future, with a statement promising to announce the full men’s first-team coaching composition in due course.
