Anthony Joshua, a Nigerian-born British boxer, has reached an astonishing milestone of $200 million in career earnings, cementing his position among the highest-paid boxers in the sport.
This remarkable achievement puts him ahead of notable heavyweights like Tyson Fury and the rising star Gervonta Davis, who have earned significantly less than Joshua in their careers.
In 2024 alone, Joshua earned an impressive $75 million, making him the second-highest earner of the year, just behind Canelo Alvarez. Although both boxers earned equal fight purses, Alvarez outperformed Joshua in off-field income, exceeding him by $2 million.
Tyson Fury, the 36-year-old British heavyweight boxer, has earned $50 million in 2024, bringing his overall career earnings to $150 million – a substantial amount, but still below Joshua’s total.
Gervonta Davis, 30 years old, has accumulated $50 million in career earnings since turning professional. His fights against Ryan Garcia and Frank Martin have significantly contributed to his wealth, while Garcia has emerged as a significant pay-per-view attraction, with career earnings exceeding $40 million.
Joshua’s financial journey took a significant turn during his rematch with Andy Ruiz Jr. in Saudi Arabia, where he earned a whopping $65 million. His subsequent bouts against Oleksandr Usyk were equally lucrative, yielding over $40 million across the first two encounters.
Additionally, Joshua’s earnings received a substantial boost from his high-profile match against Francis Ngannou last year, which alone added $50 million to his financial portfolio.
Joshua’s purses for his fights against Jermaine Franklin and Robert Helenius were also significant, contributing to his overall earnings. His six spectacular events at Wembley Stadium and the Principality Stadium each added to his financial success.
Joshua, currently 35 years old, is recovering from injuries sustained during his recent loss to Daniel Dubois. Despite this setback, he’s eyeing a potential blockbuster clash with Tyson Fury. Joshua’s next move will depend on the outcome of the highly anticipated Usyk vs. Fury rematch.
