Minister of State for FCT’s Home Engulfed in Fiery Blaze

According to reports, a devastating fire broke out on Sunday at the private residence of the Minister of State for Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mariya Mahmoud, located at No. 9, Justice Roseline Ukeji Close, Asokoro.

The minister’s media aide, Austine Elemue, confirmed the incident to PM news, stating that the house was completely destroyed, leaving nothing salvageable.

Elemue added that the fire department took some time to respond to the emergency, and the cause of the blaze has yet to be determined.

Ilorin Shop Fire: 25 Stores Reduced to Ashes

Meanwhile, in Ilorin, Kwara State, a significant fire disaster occurred on Saturday morning when a building containing approximately 25 shops caught fire around the Adeta roundabout at 02:39 hours.

According to information, firefighters arrived on the scene to find the structure engulfed in flames. Spokesman for the fire service, Hassan Adekunle, stated in a release that the quick response and bravery of fire officers prevented the damage from being more extensive, with only three shops suffering damage.

An investigation revealed that the fire was likely caused by a power surge, Adekunle reported.
