FCT Minister Nyesom Wike Credits President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda with His Achievements in Abuja
During a visit to the ongoing construction of the five-kilometer Saburi – Dei Dei road in Abuja, Wike linked his administration’s efforts to President Bola Tinubu’s promise to revitalize the nation’s hope.
Wike emphasized that good governance is not just about delivering basic infrastructure, but also about being transparent, accountable, and providing quality health and education services to citizens.
In his words, “We believe that good governance encompasses the provision of essential services, transparency, accountability, and ensuring the well-being of our people through quality healthcare and education.”
The minister expressed satisfaction that the people of the FCT are happy with the progress being made in transforming their lives, stating, “We are thrilled that the people are appreciative of our efforts. This is crucial to us, as we prioritize their happiness.”
FCT Minister Vows to Continue Demolition of Shanties Despite Protests
Meanwhile, Wike reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to demolishing shanties in the FCT, despite protests from some quarters.
He emphasized that his administration will not be swayed by protests and will instead focus on developing the city through sustainable and well-planned initiatives.
During a visit to the Ruga community in the Wuye axis of Abuja, Wike explained that his administration will engage with shanty occupants to find long-term solutions that will prevent illegal settlements.
He also dismissed the recent protest staged by some individuals, describing it as a misplaced priority.
