Nasarawa State Government Expresses Concern Over Nasarawa United’s Poor Performance
The government of Nasarawa State has taken a strong stance against the disappointing performance of Nasarawa United, the state’s representative in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL). This decision comes on the heels of a shocking home defeat at the hands of Kwara United, which has sent shockwaves throughout the football community.
In response to this crisis, Deputy Governor Emmanuel Agbadu Akabe convened an emergency meeting with key stakeholders associated with the club. The gathering took place at the temporary office of the Deputy Governor in Lafia, where representatives from various factions of the club came together to discuss the team’s troubling trajectory.
During the meeting, Akabe emphasized the unacceptable nature of Nasarawa United’s inconsistent performance in the league. He highlighted the recent home loss as a critical moment that demanded immediate attention and action.
Akabe stated that the meeting was called in response to the team’s dismal performance, particularly the loss to Kwara United. He reassured attendees that the government was committed to providing the necessary support and resources to help the team regain its competitive edge.
The Deputy Governor called for drastic measures to be taken to restore Nasarawa United’s fortunes, citing the team’s lackluster form as a major concern. He emphasized that the government would work tirelessly to ensure that the players and team personnel received the best support and resources to excel.
Nasarawa United’s performance in the NPFL has been underwhelming, with the team managing only three wins, three draws, and five defeats in the current season. They currently sit 17th in the league table with 12 points, just above the two bottom-placed teams, Akwa United and Bendel Insurance.
