Rodri Names Top 2 Ballon d’Or Contenders

Rodri Reveals Two Players He Would Have Voted For At 2024 Ballon d’Or

Rodri Shares His True Ballon d’Or Preferences

In an unexpected move, Manchester City midfielder Rodri has openly expressed his admiration for Real Madrid duo Dani Carvajal and Vinicius Junior, revealing he would have voted for them in the 2024 Ballon d’Or awards if he had a say.

Carvajal and Vinicius were among the top contenders for the award, but surprisingly, they didn’t finish on top. Rodri, however, would have placed them second and third, respectively, had he been eligible to cast his vote. The Spain international’s performances for Manchester City and his national team had a significant impact on his own victory in the prestigious award.

In a recent interview with @partidazocope, Rodri explained his unconventional preferences, saying, “I’d vote for Dani Carvajal as second, and Vinicius Jr as third.

The 28-year-old is currently going through a rehabilitation process to recover from an ACL injury sustained during a Premier League match against Arsenal in September. Initially, he faced a lengthy layoff, but he’s now focused on making a comeback by the end of the season.

I’m determined to make a return this season, yes. It’s possible, and I’m focused on my recovery without feeling pressured, he stressed. Healing properly is crucial, as the season is long, and with the new Clubs’ World Cup ahead, I feel I can contribute.

In his absence, Manchester City’s performance has taken a dip, with four losses across all competitions and a slipping ranking in the Premier League, currently placed second behind Liverpool by five points.
