Nigerian Faces $25,000 Reward for Information on His Location
The United States government has offered a substantial reward of $25,000 to anyone with information leading to the capture of Olalekan Abimbola Olawusi, a Nigerian man wanted for the alleged murder of his child.
Olawusi, who is currently on the run, is accused of inflicting severe physical harm on his three-month-old son. According to authorities, the child suffered injuries in 18 different parts of his body, including a skull fracture, subdural hematoma, and various bone fractures. The little one was found in critical condition and later died six months after being hospitalized.
Olawusi was originally charged with first-degree murder and child abuse in Providence, Rhode Island, and was released on bail after his arrest in 2017. However, he fled the country and remains at large.
The authorities believe that Olawusi may be receiving assistance from family members in Nigeria, and they are urging anyone with information about his whereabouts to come forward.
Olalekan Abimbola Olawusi, who uses the alias Olekun Olawusi, is described as a 48-year-old man with black hair and brown eyes, standing 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing approximately 185 pounds.
The US Marshals Service has placed Olawusi on its 15 Most Wanted list, warning that he poses a danger to children and the general public. The agency will use all available resources to apprehend him and ensure that he faces justice.
Anyone with information about Olawusi’s location can report it to the U.S. Marshals Service at 1-877-WANTED2 (926-8332) or through the USMS Tips App.
