APC Condemns PDP’s Baseless Attacks, Calls for Factual Campaigning in Ondo Election

Rivers: Blocking LG Funds Is A 'Civilian Coup'

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has responded to the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) allegations of planned rigging in the upcoming governorship election, dismissing them as a sign of deep frustration and unpreparedness.

In a press conference held in Okitipupa, the APC Campaign Council Spokesman, Banji Okunomo, emphasized that the party’s focus remains on ensuring the success of its candidate, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, regardless of any attempts to discredit the electoral process.

Okunomo criticized the PDP for making baseless accusations instead of engaging in meaningful campaigns. He questioned why the opposition party would make such claims when the APC has been actively campaigning across the state, engaging with voters and showcasing its candidate’s vision for the future.

The APC spokesman stressed that the party has no intention of compromising the electoral process or INEC officials, as it has already invested heavily in mobilizing its supporters and is confident in Aiyedatiwa’s ability to win the election fairly.

Aiyedatiwa has repeatedly emphasized his commitment to a credible poll, citing his 10-month record of humanist governance and the widespread support he has received from the electorate.

Okunomo highlighted the APC’s extensive campaign efforts, which have taken it to all 18 local government areas and remote parts of the state. He noted that the party’s campaign train has been well-received by the people, who have expressed their enthusiasm for Aiyedatiwa and the APC.

The APC spokesman appealed to the PDP to focus on rebuilding its party, rather than making unfounded allegations. He suggested that some of the party’s leaders may be struggling to come to terms with the departure of prominent members who lost in the governorship primaries.
