APC Youth Leaders: High-Ranking Party Officials Fuel Anti-Bello, El-Rufai Harassment

EFCC: Party Bigwigs Behind Yahaya Bello, El-Rufai’s Ill Treatment – APC Youth Leaders

APC Youth Leaders Slam Party Insiders for Persecuting Yahaya Bello

In a strongly worded statement, the APC Youth Leaders Forum (AYLF) accused certain influential figures within the party of orchestrating the “persecution” of Yahaya Bello by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). According to the youths, Bello is being targeted due to his close ties to key party contributors who helped secure the presidency for President Bola Tinubu.

Representing youths from all 36 states and the FCT, the AYLF expressed deep concern that party members who have contributed significantly to the party’s success are now being subjected to harassment. The group believes that this is a deliberate attempt to undermine the party ahead of the 2027 elections and secure political positions for those involved.

AYLF emphasized that Yahaya Bello has consistently cooperated with the law and has not been found guilty of any wrongdoing. They highlighted his achievements in Kogi State, stating that those targeting him have forgotten that the EFCC should be focused on genuinely corrupt individuals rather than party loyalists.

The youths also pointed out that it is unacceptable for party members who played crucial roles in recent election victories to be targeted instead of being recognized for their contributions. They cited the example of former Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna, who they believe is also at risk of being undermined by those who have contributed little to the party’s growth.

In their statement, the AYLF called on President Bola Tinubu to take a leadership role and prevent these influential individuals from harming the party. They urged the withdrawal of all politically motivated corruption petitions before the EFCC, ICPC, and other anti-corruption agencies, arguing that this would help the party refocus on its core goals.

The statement concluded by emphasizing the importance of the EFCC remaining impartial and not being used as a tool to silence perceived enemies of influential party members.
