Mikel Obi Reveals Shocking Feedback from Kai Havertz Towards Chelsea Supporters

Mikel Obi Explains How Kai Havertz Disrespected Chelsea Fans

John Mikel Obi, a former Chelsea midfielder, believes Kai Havertz disrespected the Blues’ fans during the North London derby.

During the recent 1-1 Premier League draw at Stamford Bridge, Havertz, a former Chelsea player, thought he had scored for Arsenal. As he celebrated, he received a chorus of boos from the Chelsea supporters. In response, he seemingly asked the crowd to be quiet.

Mikel Obi suggests that, regardless of the circumstances, such actions can be perceived as disrespectful to fans who have cheered a player on to major trophies, including the Champions League and Club World Cup.

In an interview on his Obi One podcast, Mikel Obi reflected, “When we’re in the heat of the moment, adrenaline and passion can guide our actions. But it’s crucial to show respect to a former club and its fans.”

“When I played for Chelsea, I faced challenges with fan appreciation, but my love for the club remained strong. I focused on my responsibilities on the pitch,” he continued.

“If a player returns to face their former club and scores, it’s essential to celebrate in a way that acknowledges the connection with the fans, rather than dismissing them. While I may not know all the reasons behind Havertz’s actions, I believe that maintaining respect is vital for both players and supporters,” Mikel Obi concluded.
