Pastor Adeboye attributes Dangote’s refinery project to divine inspiration

God Inspired Dangote To Build Refinery In Nigeria – Pastor Adeboye Reveals

Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has a powerful message for Nigerians: it’s time to seek divine intervention to end the suffering caused by corruption and sabotage in the nation’s oil industry.

In his recent remarks during the November 2024 Abuja Special Holy Ghost service, Pastor Adeboye condemned the actions of unscrupulous oil marketers and international oil companies (IOCs) who are reportedly colluding to hinder the operations of private refineries, including the Dangote Petroleum Refinery.

The Pastor attributed the success of the Dangote Refinery to divine inspiration, suggesting that it was God’s will that led Aliko Dangote, a renowned businessman and industrialist, to establish a refinery that works, after numerous failed attempts to revive the country’s four state-owned refineries.

Pastor Adeboye expressed alarm over Nigeria’s continued reliance on fuel imports, considering the country’s status as a major crude oil producer. He asked a piercing question: “Are we under a curse?” The answer, he implied, lies in the country’s inability to utilize its refinery capacity.

The Pastor pointed out the irony of the situation: while Nigeria has four functional refineries, they’ve been unable to operate due to corruption and mismanagement. Meanwhile, a privately-owned refinery, Dangote Petroleum Refinery, has been successfully refining petroleum products. However, unscrupulous oil marketers are allegedly working to obstruct its operations.

Notably, the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has reached an agreement with Dangote Refinery to sell petroleum products directly to its members. Despite this development, Nigerians are still faced with the burden of paying exorbitant prices at NNPC stations and retail outlets, with prices as high as ₦1200 per liter.
