Abia PDP Demands Proof of ₦90 Billion Debt Settlement Claim
The Abia State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has challenged Governor Alex Otti to provide concrete evidence to support his claim that he disbursed ₦90 billion to settle contract debts in the state.
The party expressed surprise and skepticism about the existence of such a debt, which they claimed was not previously known to them.
In a strongly worded letter, the PDP urged the governor to provide the names of individuals and companies that benefited from the alleged ₦90 billion transaction, citing a lack of verifiable documentation and due process.
The letter, signed by Elder Abraham Amah, the new state chairman of the PDP, stated that the party was concerned about the governor’s claim and urged him to clarify the matter.
The PDP demanded to know how the figure was determined and the basis for the payments, as well as the names of those who received the funds.
The party emphasized the importance of transparency and accountability, stating that the citizens of Abia State deserved to know who received the payments and how the funds were used.
The PDP also expressed concern about the potential impact of the governor’s actions on public trust, stating that without clear communication, confidence in the administration and its financial dealings would be eroded.
The party concluded by urging the governor to take immediate action to clarify the matter and restore confidence in his administration.
