PDP National Chairman Charges Ondo Supporters to Hold Firm Against Intimidation
Umar Damagum, the Acting National Chairman of the Peoples Democracy Party (PDP), has urged party supporters in Ondo State to resist intimidation and boldly exercise their right to vote in Saturday’s governorship election. He emphasized the importance of defending their votes until the final collation.
Speaking during the final campaign rally of the party’s governorship candidate, Agboola Ajayi, in Akure on Thursday, Damagum reminded the public that the election would serve as a decisive moment in shaping the state’s fate. He urged the citizens to use their votes to “oust the All Progressives Congress (APC) from power” for good governance.
The national chairman cited the PDP’s period in government in the state, during which numerous accomplishments were achieved. He warned that if the PDP wins the election, Ondo State would witness relief from poverty and suffering.
Additionally, he highlighted the importance of the PDP governments in Oyo and Osun states, which saw significant transformations. Damagum criticized the APC-led government in Ondo, describing it as lacking viable policies and ideas, as a result of which the state has fallen behind in developmental progress.
