Jaywon Reveals He’s Not on Good Terms with Ayra Starr
A tumultuous falling out has allegedly occurred between Nigerian singer Jaywon and his colleague, Ayra Starr. The discord began after a viral picture of the duo sparked online ridicule.
The image in question features Ayra Starr seemingly preventing Jaywon from holding her waist. In a recent interview with News Central, Jaywon opened up about the incident, placing the blame squarely on Ayra Starr and her management for failing to address the trolling.
“Unfortunately, the situation with Ayra Starr is a sorry state of affairs. We’re no longer on good terms,” Jaywon confessed. “People don’t seem to understand what was going on. Why would I, Jaywon, want to take a picture with Ayra Starr in the first place?”
Jaywon explained that he initially intended to show his support and admiration for Ayra Starr’s impressive work, stating, “Of course, she’s an amazing artist who has been making us Nigerians proud. I just wanted to be part of that celebration.” He added that he was surprised by the reaction, noting that people often show their support for one another.
Jaywon expressed disappointment that Ayra Starr’s management did not address the online bullying, instead choosing to promote the picture further. “We know how the industry works,” he said. “People are saying she didn’t say anything about the picture, and of course, she didn’t. But she saw it trending every day – why didn’t she say something?”
Jaywon conceded that Ayra Starr and her team likely enjoyed the publicity, stating, “They feel like if they say something, they’ll stop the picture from trending. They enjoy it. No problem. Everybody has their time.”
