Ondo State Governor Seeks Re-election with Aplomb

Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the incumbent Governor of Ondo State, recently emphasized the importance of retaining APC at the helm in honor of his predecessor, late Rotimi Akeredolu.

Making the case during an APC governorship campaign rally at MKO Abiola Democracy Park, Akure, Governor Aiyedatiwa was optimistic that the late leader would have been pleased to see APC supporters vote overwhelmingly in the upcoming election.

In asking the crowd which party they favored, the Governor noted a unanimous response in favor of APC, saying “Rotimi Akeredolu’s legacy would undoubtedly have wished for our APC’s triumph in the poll, with the promise he once shared with me: he had faith that I would succeed him and do so when the time arrives – on November 16th.” He observed a minute’s silence in his predecessor’s honor.

Governor Aiyedatiwa commended the progress he had achieved since taking office and expressed his commitment to expanding this legacy further through increased investments in the state’s development projects across multiple sectors. He pledged that an APC victory would perpetuate growth, stability, and progress for Ondo State.

Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the APC’s National Chairman, assured rallygoers that Governor Aiyedatiwa was bound for victory on Saturday the 16th. Emphasizing the significant importance of the election, he underscored that supporting Governor Aiyedatiwa is equivalent to affirming the values of unity, peace, and sustainable growth in Ondo State.

Joined by prominent APC chieftains, dignitaries, and neighboring governors, including AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara, Sen. Hope Uzodimma of Imo, and Dapo Abiodun of Ogun, Governor Aiyedatiwa made a compelling appeal for votes in his name, which he believes reflects a mandate for continued good governance in Ondo State.
