PDP blasts Wike for allegedly besmirching Sule Lamido’s reputation

PDP Slams Wike Over Alleged Attack On Sule Lamido’s Legacy

Jigawa PDP Responds to Baseless Allegations Against Sule Lamido

The Northern Youths Movement (NYM) has leveled scathing accusations against former Jigawa State Governor and PDP founding member, Sule Lamido, claiming he was part of a rebellion against the party in 2014. This shocking claim, allegedly backed by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has sparked outrage among PDP supporters across Nigeria.

Party leaders have issued a strong rebuke, with Jigawa PDP leader Muhammad Mago denouncing the article as a blatant attempt to tarnish Dr. Lamido’s reputation. Mago accuses Wike of orchestrating a smear campaign to create divisions within the PDP.

The statement from Mago claims the NYM’s allegations are a malicious attempt to defame Lamido, adding that Wike’s actions are a prime example of “Draconian politics” and a betrayal of the PDP’s values. Mago also points out that Wike’s acceptance of a ministerial role under the APC is a clear departure from PDP loyalty.

Lamido, a respected party stalwart and former Minister of Foreign Affairs under President Olusegun Obasanjo, has a long history of dedication to the PDP. He served as Jigawa’s governor from 2007 to 2015 and remains committed to national interests, refusing to engage in Wike’s alleged provocations.

Mago also refutes claims that Lamido imposed his son, Mustapha, as the PDP gubernatorial candidate in the last election, stating that Mustapha earned the nomination through merit and hard work.

In a call to the public, Mago urges them to ignore the malicious article and recognize Lamido’s long-standing commitment to the PDP. He highlights Lamido’s significant contributions to national politics, including his role in stabilizing Nigeria after President Umar Musa Yar’Adua’s passing.

The PDP chapter reaffirms its support for Lamido, acknowledging his efforts to strengthen the party nationwide and build a lasting legacy for the PDP.
