AS Roma Welcomes Back a Legendary Figure: Claudio Ranieri Returns as Head Coach
AS Roma has made a bold move by appointing Claudio Ranieri as the new Head Coach of the First Team, bringing back a highly respected figure with a deep connection to the club.
Ranieri, a lifelong Roma fan and former player, will lead the team for the remainder of the season before transitioning into a senior executive role, where he will provide valuable guidance to the ownership on sporting matters.
This is not Ranieri’s first stint at Roma; he previously served as head coach from 2009 to 2011 and again in 2019. With a wealth of experience in top-tier leagues across Europe, including Serie A, the Premier League, La Liga, and Ligue 1, Ranieri has earned a reputation as a shrewd tactician and leader.
Ranieri’s most notable achievement was leading Leicester City to a historic league title in 2016, cementing his status as a top-class coach. Roma is confident that his extensive knowledge and experience will greatly benefit the team.
The club extended its best wishes to Ranieri as he begins this new chapter, saying, “Forza Roma and welcome home, Mister.”
Ranieri takes over from Ivan Juric, who was appointed in September following the departure of former club captain Daniele De Rossi.
Under Juric’s guidance, the team struggled, recording only four wins in 12 matches across all competitions, leaving them in the 12th spot in Serie A, just four points above the relegation zone.
Ranieri’s return is expected to bring a fresh start and new opportunities for growth within the squad.
