Nigeria’s Super Eagles Secure Spot at 2025 Africa Cup of Nations

A report by Naijawebinfo reveals that Nigeria’s men’s senior team has officially qualified for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) after Libya’s 1-0 victory over Rwanda on Thursday.

The Super Eagles, who had accumulated 10 points in their group, secured a top-two finish following Libya’s surprise win in the Group D match against Rwanda in Kigali.

The team will face Benin Republic’s Cheetahs in Abidjan today before returning home to conclude their qualifying campaign against Rwanda on Monday.

Rwanda and Libya, who are now on five and four points respectively, cannot catch up with the Super Eagles, who have a comfortable lead with only one matchday remaining.

The Super Eagles are three-time African champions and made it to the final of the last edition, which was held in Cote d’Ivoire.

The 35th Africa Cup of Nations, scheduled to take place in Morocco from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026, will feature the Super Eagles.
