Rivers State Local Government Chairman Warns President Tinubu About FCT Minister Nyesom Wike
Chijioke Ihunwo, the Chairman of Obio/Akpo local government area in Rivers State, has cautioned President Bola Tinubu to be cautious in his dealings with the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike.
Ihunwo made this assertion in a video he shared on his social media handle on Thursday, stating that Wike has a hidden agenda to contest against President Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
According to Ihunwo, Wike would likely promise to remain loyal to the President and even offer to help him hold onto power, all while secretly planning to supplant him. He likened this behavior to Wike’s treatment of former Governor Rotimi Amaechi, who brought him into politics.
“I want to alert Nigerians that Wike has a plan to run for president in 2027. So, Mr. President, be careful about Wike,” Ihunwo said.
Ihunwo warned that Wike would initially pledge his loyalty to the President, claiming he wants to remain in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to help him maintain his power. However, in reality, Wike would be secretly plotting to overthrow the President, just as he did to Amaechi.
“So, I want to appeal to Mr. President to be very cautious about Nyesom Wike, the Minister of FCT,” Ihunwo urged.
