2024 Rivers State Congress Will Hold Saturday- APC

In the last 24 hours leading up to the Ondo governorship election, the National Organizing Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Sulaiman Muhammad, has extended a helping hand to the Muslim community in the state by donating ₦1 million.

The donation, Muhammad explained, is aimed at supporting the religious, social, and interfaith activities of the Muslim community in Ondo state.

The APC, through its official Twitter handle, announced the donation during Friday prayers at the Akure Juma’at Mosque, stating that Muhammad presented the cheque to the mosque.

In related news, the Social Democratic Party (SDP) governorship candidate, Bamidele Akingboye, has called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to investigate reports of cash stashing by politicians in Ijako, Ondo state. He also urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to take measures against vote buying in the upcoming election.

Akingboye, speaking to journalists, questioned the source of the cash being distributed by political parties in the state, citing reports of large sums being transported in bags labelled “Ghana Must Go”. He urged the EFCC to investigate the issue by raiding hotels in Ijako, suggesting that they would find illicit funds there.

Akingboye also emphasized his commitment to upholding INEC rules and regulations, stating that while he would not use vote buying tactics, citizens are free to make their own choices. He expressed hope that voters would exercise their right to vote according to their conscience, free from external influences.
