Galatasaray Intensify Pursuit of Victor Osimhen as Transfer Talks Heat Up

Galatasaray has made significant progress in their bid to secure Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen’s permanent transfer from Napoli. The Turkish club has managed to secure a substantial sponsor willing to cover a large portion of the transfer fee, a major development in their negotiations.

According to sources, Galatasaray is considering a reduced transfer fee of €70 million, taking into account the payments already made. They have partnered with two prominent Turkish companies, with one agreeing to subsidize the transfer cost in exchange for a 30% share of the fee.

Napoli is demanding €25 million upfront, with the remainder to be paid in installments, prompting Galatasaray to accelerate their efforts to secure the funds. The Turkish side is eager to finalize the deal before Fenerbahçe, their domestic rivals, can make a move.

Galatasaray’s prompt action is partly due to Fenerbahçe’s interest in Osimhen, which was triggered by their coach, José Mourinho. While Osimhen initially expressed his happiness at Galatasaray, the Turkish club is working hard to convince Napoli to proceed with the transfer.

Fenerbahçe has been actively exploring options to acquire Osimhen, with agent Mirsad Türkcan in talks with Napoli over the transfer fee. Although the two clubs have not yet met with Osimhen, Fenerbahçe remains optimistic about securing his signature, buoyed by their positive relationship with Napoli following the transfer of Eljif Elmas.

A successful transfer would represent a substantial investment for Galatasaray, with Osimhen’s estimated €12 million annual salary adding up to €36 million over three seasons. The transfer fee itself is expected to be around €75 million.

Galatasaray President Dursun Özbek has assembled a dedicated team, including Kavukcu and Buruk, to advance the transfer. This team plans to meet with agent George Gardi in Italy to discuss the next steps.

Osimhen has made a significant impact since joining Galatasaray in September, scoring eight goals and providing four assists in just nine matches across all competitions. His impressive form has highlighted his value to the team.
