Juventus Terminates Paul Pogba’s Contract Amid Doping Ban
According to Naijawebinfo, Juventus has announced the termination of Paul Pogba’s contract, effective November 30, 2024. The decision comes as the French midfielder prepares to return to action after serving an 18-month doping ban.
In a statement, the Serie A club revealed that they and Pogba have reached a mutual agreement to end their contract, citing the need for a fresh start for both parties.
Pogba, a former Manchester United player, received a four-year suspension for using performance-enhancing drugs, but this was reduced to 18 months after he appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
The 31-year-old midfielder, who led France to World Cup victory in 2018, is expected to resume his playing career in March 2025.
Pogba took to social media to share his thoughts on the development, expressing gratitude to the Juventus fans for their unwavering support.
In his Instagram post, Pogba wrote, “There are moments when things don’t go as planned, but one thing is certain – the bond I share with you, dear fans, will remain unforgettable.” He went on to thank the fans for their love and support, saying, “You’ve given me so much, more than I can put into words, and I’ll always carry your affection with me. You’ll be in my heart, always.” Finally, he wished Juventus good luck in their future endeavors.
