Devastating Gas Explosion Rocks Filling Station in Katsina State

A catastrophic gas explosion occurred on November 15 at the Tamal filling station in Jibia Local Government Area of Katsina State, resulting in significant damage to the surrounding area. According to ASP Abubakar Sadiq-Aliyu, the police spokesperson, the blast was caused by a truck carrying gas cylinders that caught fire.

When officers from the Jibia Divisional Police Headquarters, led by the Divisional Police Officer and supported by military personnel, responded to the incident, they found the truck engulfed in flames. Without hesitation, the joint team took swift action to contain the situation, deploying preventative measures to protect lives and minimize property damage.

As a result of the explosion, six vehicles were severely damaged, but fortunately, there were no reported casualties. The authorities are still working to determine the cause of the explosion, with an investigation underway to uncover the root of the incident.

Inspector General of Police, Aliyu Abubakar-Musa, has ordered a comprehensive investigation into the matter. Updates on the findings will be shared as the investigation progresses, ensuring transparency and accountability.
