Nigeria’s Social Media Reacts to Appointment of Daniel Bwala as Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu
Naijawebinfo recalls that President Tinubu recently announced the appointment of Daniel Bwala, a former campaign aide to Atiku Abubakar, as his Special Adviser on Media and Public Communications (State House).
Bwala’s appointment was confirmed in a statement released by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, which also announced the appointment of three others.
In response to the news, Bwala took to social media to express his gratitude to President Tinubu, stating that the appointment reflects the President’s confidence and trust in him. He pledged to excel in his new role and thanked the President for the opportunity.
However, Nigerians have been sharing their reactions to the appointment on social media, with some praising Bwala’s hard work and others criticizing his decision to join the Tinubu administration.
@Opeyemtech wrote: “Congratulations on your hard-earned appointment! May your new role bring you joy and fulfillment.”
@TheodoreBasil wrote: “Finally, Peter Obi has put food on your table!”
@i_am_olubadan wrote: “Hustle and grind! You deserve this opportunity.”
However, not everyone is pleased with the appointment. Some have expressed skepticism about Bwala’s motivations and questioned whether he was truly committed to the Tinubu administration.
@napoleon2002 wrote: “What if Bwala was planted to spy on Atiku for the purpose of the election? It’s Atiku who should be blamed for being desperate to work with people without vetting.”
@Pa_Chijo wrote: “Congratulations, sir! Baba is ensuring that those who criticized him end up licking their own vomit.”
@TvslEspana wrote: “Why did you accept the appointment, Daniel? During our campaign for Tinubu, you destroyed him and talked nonsense. Get out of the Tinubu government, I know you’re coming to spoil his plan for Nigerians.”
Some have also expressed disappointment and bitterness towards others who were not appointed to the same position, such as Femi Fani-Kayode and Omokri.
@UcheObadike wrote: “So what stops FFK and Omokri from being appointed too? They are all playing new tunes since Tinubu came to power, not minding the terrible things they said against him just like Bwala Daniel said against the APC.”
@kingkhone4real wrote: “It was all a game. You were with Tinubu from the start. Congratulations. I am happy that Nigeria is now a one-party state. Tinubu will be president till 2031 and hand over to Nuhu Ribadu. Make una just dey watch.”
As the debate continues, it remains to be seen how Bwala’s appointment will be received by the public and what impact it will have on the Tinubu administration.
