Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, Emphasizes Peaceful Conduct of Governorship Election
Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has reiterated his commitment to accepting the outcome of the Ondo State governorship election, regardless of the result. He made this statement after casting his vote on Saturday.
The APC candidate praised the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) staff, security agents, and the people for maintaining a peaceful atmosphere throughout the voting process.
“So far, the area has been peaceful, and I believe this is what’s happening across the state,” Governor Aiyedatiwa said. “The INEC staff have been transparent, and the security agents are doing a great job. We’ve not recorded any issues or crises.”
The Governor also commended the youth for their obedience and responsible behavior during the election. He expressed confidence that the exercise would be peaceful, transparent, credible, and conclusive.
Governor Aiyedatiwa urged all eligible voters in Ondo State to come out and exercise their franchise. He emphasized that he would accept the outcome of the election, regardless of the result, as long as the process was peaceful and free from fraud.
“If the outcome doesn’t favor my party, I will accept it as the decision of the people, as long as there are no incidents of fraud or malpractice,” he said. “I will only speak from here at the polling unit, but so far, everything seems to be going smoothly.”
