Daddy Freeze Fires Back at Akah Nnani Over Church Hurt Comments
A heated exchange has unfolded on social media between Nigerian media personality, Daddy Freeze, and Nollywood actor, Akah Nnani. The drama began when Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, urged Nigerians to prioritize work over vigils to boost productivity.
In response to Obi’s statement, Emmanuel Iren, the founder of Celebration Church International, disagreed, prompting Freeze to criticize Iren for defending night vigils. Freeze accused Iren of supporting the practice because it generates income for him.
Nnani then waded into the fray, describing Freeze as a lost soul dealing with “church hurt.” The actor urged Christians to pray for Freeze, claiming the Holy Spirit instructed him to do so.
Nnani stated that he had been prompted to pray for Freeze by the Holy Spirit, and he believed that if Christians prayed more for others, they would see better results. He called on all Christians to join him in praying for Freeze and those struggling with “church hurt.”
However, Daddy Freeze has now responded to Nnani’s comments, stating that both Nnani and Iren need prayer. Freeze argued that Obi’s opinion on vigils is valid and implied that Iren’s defense of night vigils is self-serving.
In a post on his social media page, Freeze wrote, “Dear Akah, pray for Iren and for yourself. You need it more. Peter Obi made a valid point about night vigils.” He also accused Iren’s followers of trying to defend the indefensible.
