Ondo Decides: Agboola Ajayi Accuses INEC of Complicity in Vote Casting

#OndoDecides2024: PDP’s Agboola Ajayi Alleges INEC Compromise After Casting Vote

PDP’s Agboola Ajayi Raises Concerns About Compromised Election Process in Ondo State

Ajayi, the governorship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State, cast his vote on Saturday, but not before expressing disappointment with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) over the electoral process.

Arriving at Polling Unit 4, Idumado Quarter, Kiribo, Ese-Odo Local Government Area, nearly two hours after voting began, Ajayi faced delays during the accreditation process due to technical issues with the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) machine.

Speaking after casting his ballot, Ajayi criticized INEC’s handling of the election, citing the difficulties he encountered during the accreditation process, which took several minutes to resolve.

Ajayi commended voters for their peaceful conduct, but urged INEC to address the lapses and ensure transparency in the exercise.

In an interview with newsmen, Ajayi stated, “Things are not working as they should. It took more than 10 minutes to capture me, the candidate of PDP.”

“If INEC cannot organize a successful election in one state, we are heading towards chaos,” he warned.

Ajayi further alleged that the situation was deliberate and that INEC’s Resident Electoral Commissioner, Barrister Olatoyin Babalola, was not impartial. “We have said it several times that we don’t trust her, that this woman cannot be fair. The system is compromised,” he claimed.
