Ondo Election: Top Contenders Emerge: Aiyedatiwa, Ajayi, Mimiko Lead the Pack

Aiyedatiwa, Ajayi, Mimiko: Ex-Governorship Aspirant Names Who Will Win Ondo Governorship Election

APC Chieftain Confident Governor Aiyedatiwa Will Emerge as Governorship Election Winner in Ondo State

A high-ranking member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Olusola Oke, is upbeat that Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa will be declared the winner of the ongoing governorship election in Ondo State.

Oke expressed his confidence on November 16, after casting his vote in Ilowo, Ugbo Ward 003, Ilaje Local Government Area. Interestingly, he had previously vied for the APC governorship ticket but lost to Aiyedatiwa during the primary election.

The election pits Aiyedatiwa against top contenders Agboola Ajayi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Abbas Mimiko of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), with Olorunfemi Ayodele Festus of the Labour Party also in the running.

Oke hailed the electoral process so far, describing it as peaceful and free from fear or intimidation. He firmly believes that Aiyedatiwa is destined for victory, citing the weakness of the opposition.

“The atmosphere is peaceful everywhere, with people freely casting their ballots,” Oke said, commenting on the challenging terrain due to the waterside location. “This time, we’ve been waiting for so long. Our governorship candidate will emerge victorious because it’s quite apparent. The broom has swept very clean in our favor.”

Oke acknowledged the people’s desire for change, stating that Aiyedatiwa is set to deliver good leadership, citing the governor’s track record. He urged supporters to maintain the peace being enjoyed in the state and confidently predicted a clean victory for Aiyedatiwa.

Sustaining the election’s peaceful atmosphere, Oke emphasized the importance of adhering to democratic values, ensuring a smooth conclusion to the voting process.
