Ondo PDP’s Akingbaso Brings Out Polling Unit Amidst Security Tensions

Breaking: Ondo PDP’s Akingbaso Delivers Polling Unit Amid Security Tension

Festus Akingbaso, Deputy Candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has clinched a decisive victory for his running mate, Agboola Ajayi, at Polling Unit 8 in Alade-Idanre, Ondo State.

In a convincing win, Akingbaso garnered an impressive 187 votes at the unit, while the All Progressives Congress (APC) trailed closely behind with 46 votes. The Labour Party, Action Alliance, and PLP managed to secure only one vote each.

Thanks to the prompt intervention of armed police personnel, the voting process and subsequent result collation unfolded smoothly, defying earlier concerns about disruption.

A tense atmosphere had taken over the polling station after a group of alleged hoodlums appeared, allegedly planning to steal the ballot box.

In a demonstration of dedication to ensuring the electoral process went uninterrupted, the police personnel remained on site throughout the vote-counting and result collation, ultimately preventing any further disruptions.

The victory at Polling Unit 8 serves as a significant boost for the PDP’s campaign as vote collation continues across Ondo State, amid ongoing concerns for security and stability.
