Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, Leads the Pack in Gubernatorial Election
With the collation of results from the November 16 election still underway, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has taken a substantial lead in the Ondo State gubernatorial election. According to the latest figures released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Aiyedatiwa has garnered a total of 259,851 votes, putting him ahead of his closest rival, Agboola Ajayi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who has secured 81,031 votes.
A breakdown of the results shows that only five Local Government Areas (LGAs) are yet to announce their results. The collation process began at the INEC office in Akure, the state capital, at approximately 12:35 am, with Professor Olayemi Akinwunmi, Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Lokoja, serving as the Returning Officer for the election.
