Bobrisky, a Nigerian crossdresser, has made it clear that he will not accept any awards or recognition intended for women.
In a recent statement, he attributed his troubles to an award he received from actress Eniola Ajao, which he claims has been the source of his problems.
Naijawebinfo reports that Bobrisky faced intense backlash after being awarded the title of “Best Dressed Female” at Eniola Ajao’s movie premiere several months ago.
Following the incident, Bobrisky was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for allegedly misusing naira at the award ceremony and was subsequently sentenced to six months in jail.
After serving his sentence, a leaked audio surfaced online, in which Bobrisky allegedly claimed to have bribed EFCC officials to avoid money laundering charges and served his sentence in a luxury apartment.
The controversy sparked a heated debate online and ultimately led to his re-arrest.
In a recent Instagram post, Bobrisky reflected on the events that unfolded, stating, “The problems I’ve faced started when I accepted the best dressed female award with a N1 million prize.”
“I’ll never accept an award for best dressed female again,” he wrote. “I’m a baddie with class, and I won’t compete with anyone who thinks they can rival me. But when things get too tough, I’ll leave the scene.”
