Damagum Must Clarify Secret Meeting Allegation With Tinubu

Wike vs Atiku: Fresh Moves To Sack Damagum Begin

PDP May Suffer Election Losses, Predicts Kola Ologbondiyan

Former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kola Ologbondiyan, believes that the party may experience a string of election defeats in the upcoming off-cycle governorship elections in Anambra, Ekiti, and Osun States as long as Umar Damagum remains the Acting National Chairman. He argues that the only way to prevent these losses is for the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) to hold a meeting and elect a new, substantive National Chairman from the North Central region.

Ologbondiyan contends that Damagum is not interested in working for the party’s success and that his leadership is detrimental to the party’s well-being. He believes that the acting chairman’s actions are deliberate and will ultimately lead to the party’s downfall. The former PDP spokesperson is urging party leaders to take immediate action to rectify the situation.

In a recent address, Ologbondiyan pointed out that Section 47 (6) of the party’s Constitution (2017 Amendment) explicitly supports the emergence of a National Chairman from the North Central region. He is urging Damagum to step down and allow a new leader to take the reins, warning that the party will continue to suffer losses if the acting chairman remains in power.

Ologbondiyan also expressed dismay at Damagum’s alleged secret meeting with President Bola Tinubu in London, which he claims has not been adequately addressed by the acting chairman. He is calling on party leaders to take action and rescue the PDP from the grip of Damagum and his supporters.
