APC Aims to Consolidate Power in Southwest States, Says Ganduje

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, has set his sights on the southwest region, declaring the party’s intention to establish a strong foothold in all the states within the zone.

Ganduje made this statement shortly after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared the APC as the winner of the 2024 Ondo State governorship election.

The APC leader expressed his determination to ensure that the party’s influence spreads across the southwest, specifically mentioning Osun and Oyo states as key targets.

In an interview with newsmen in Akure, Ganduje emphasized the party’s commitment to achieving this goal, stating, “We are confident in our ability to hit our targets, and we will do everything necessary to bring these states into our fold, thereby achieving political homogeneity in the southwest region.”

Ganduje also commended the conduct of the Ondo governorship election, describing it as free, fair, and credible.

He attributed the success of the election to the collaborative efforts of all stakeholders, including INEC, which he praised for providing the necessary logistics and manpower to ensure a smooth process.
