Ondo: PDP’s Ajayi Trails Behind Aiyedatiwa Who Leads in 15 Local Governments

#OndoDecides2024: Ayedatiwa Leads In 13 LGAs, Including PDP Running Mate’s Stronghold

Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, has taken the lead in 15 local government areas, as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announces the results of Saturday’s election.

Agboola Ajayi, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, has yet to win in any local government area in the state.

Prof. Olayemi Akinwumi, the State Returning Officer and Vice Chancellor of the Federal University, Lokoja, Kogi State, formally opened the state collation exercise at 12:10 a.m. on Sunday.

In Ifedore Local Government Area, APC secured 14,157 votes, defeating PDP’s 5,897 votes.

In Ondo East Local Government Area, APC got 8,163 votes, while PDP polled 2,843 votes.

In IleOluji/OkeIgbo Local Government Area, APC won with 16,600 votes, followed by PDP’s 4,442 votes. In Idanre Local Government Area, APC got 9,114 votes, while PDP garnered 8,940 votes.

In Irele Local Government Area, APC secured 17,117 votes, while PDP polled 6,601 votes. In Akoko South West Local Government Area, APC won with 29,700 votes, defeating PDP’s 5,517 votes.

In Owo Local Government Area, APC polled 31,914 votes, while PDP garnered 4,740 votes.

In Ondo West Local Government Area, APC secured 20,755 votes, while PDP got 6,387 votes.

In Akoko South East Local Government Area, APC won with 12,140 votes, while PDP got 2,692 votes.

In Akoko North West Local Government Area, APC secured 25,010 votes, while PDP got 5,502 votes.

APC also won in Ose Local Government Area with 16,555 votes, while PDP got 4,472 votes. In Akure South Local Government Area, APC polled 32,969 votes, against PDP’s 17,926 votes.

In Akoko North East Local Government Area, APC won with 25,657 votes, while PDP got 5,072 votes.

Prof. Akinwumi announced that the commission will take a recess to resume by 12 noon, when the results of the last three local government areas, Ilaje, Ese Odo, and Odigbo, will be released.
