PDP Warns Okpebholo Against Misrepresenting Completed Projects in Edo State

Edo State’s Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chapter has issued a strong warning to Governor Monday Okpebholo, cautioning him against claiming credit for projects already completed by his predecessor, Godwin Obaseki.

The Publicity Secretary of the Edo PDP Caretaker Committee, Chris Nehikhare, issued the statement on Sunday, following Okpebholo’s claims that his administration was initiating and constructing major projects, including the 7.5km Temboga Road.

Nehikhare dismissed Okpebholo’s claims, stating that the Temboga Road project, and several others, had been completed by the Obaseki-led government before the current administration took office. He urged Okpebholo to stop engaging in what he called “mendacious antics” and focus on delivering his campaign promises.

“It’s disheartening to see that Senator Monday Okpebholo and his administration have started their tenure with such dishonesty,” Nehikhare said. “They are misrepresenting the achievements of the previous government, claiming credit for projects that were initiated and completed by Godwin Obaseki. This is unacceptable and we demand they stop this behavior forthwith.”

The PDP called on Okpebholo to focus on delivering his administration’s vision for the state, rather than misrepresenting the accomplishments of the previous government. The party urged Edo citizens to reject such dishonesty and demand accountability from their leaders.
